DMRC expedite construction of Ring Metro Line in Delhi
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has initiated the process of expanding the Pink Line, one of its busiest lines, by 12.55 kilometers. The extension will connect the Majlis Park station in the north to the Maujpur station in the east, and will create India's first ring metro.
The new section of the Pink Line will have eight stations, including Burari, Jharoda, Jagatpur Village, Soorghat, Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, and Yamuna Vihar. The extension is part of DMRC's Phase IV development plan, and is scheduled to be completed by June 2024.
The expansion of the Pink Line will provide much-needed relief to commuters in the national capital region. The new section of the line will connect several important commercial and residential areas, and will help to reduce traffic congestion.
