Avaada Group to Invest in Hybrid Wind-Solar Projects in Gujarat
Avaada Group has committed investments totaling ₹40,000 crore for the development of 6,000 MW (six GW) hybrid wind-solar projects in Gujarat. The agreement for this significant investment was formalized during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 held in Gandhinagar. The hybrid projects, predominantly situated in the underdeveloped wastelands of Kutch, will supply power to various state-owned power utilities. The initiative aims to substantially reduce carbon emissions, with an estimated annual generation of 17.5 billion units of green electricity, leading to the reduction of approximately 16.3 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions annually. This substantial contribution is expected to power nearly 12.6 million households, furthering India's green energy supply goals. Avaada Group, engaged in solar module production and large-scale projects for green hydrogen and green methanol, already has operational or ongoing projects with a capacity of two GW in Gujarat.
